Chinese cabbage viral disease in summer generally causes yellowing and crinkling of the heart leaves at the seedling stage, preventing head formation into a ball; at the adult plant stage, the leaves become brittle and hard, crinkled, and the head fails to fill out solidly, with grayish-brown patches forming on the leaves, affecting yield and market quality.
High temperature and drought, especially high nighttime temperatures, which weaken plant growth, are important external conditions for infection and disease development.
Water frequently, do not practice seedling hardening. Firmly adhere to the principle of three waterings for complete emergence and five waterings for final thinning, then water once every 2-3 days, promoting growth continuously; watering in the evening is best.
Control nitrogen and increase phosphorus and potassium to promote strong seedlings. Apply the base fertilizer all at once, preferably 5 kg of biological potassium fertilizer, 50 kg of potassium sulfate compound fertilizer, and 15-20 kg of ammonium bicarbonate per mu.
Control aphids promptly and eliminate the virus source. Spray pesticide immediately upon finding aphids; adding 0.3% monopotassium phosphate to the spray can improve efficacy and enhance the plant's disease resistance.
Upon finding the first diseased plants, they should be pulled out immediately to prevent spread, and 500x dilution of Virus A or 500-800x dilution of Zhibingling should be sprayed for control.
