How to fertilize when growing summer corn? Please explain the methods.

For fertilizing summer corn, you can refer to the following methods:
    1. Avoid applying too much fertilizer. Some farmers use more than 50 kg of urea per mu when growing summer corn, which reduces fertilizer use efficiency and corn quality and pollutes the soil. To improve corn yield and quality, you cannot rely solely on increasing the amount of fertilizer; you must also improve fertilization methods and increase fertilizer use efficiency.
II. Avoid heavy early application and light late application. A fertilization method of heavy early application and light late application reduces fertilizer use efficiency. In the early stage, fertilizer is sufficient, corn grows well but vegetative growth is excessive, the field becomes too dense, reproductive growth is delayed, and in the late growth stage the crop grows poorly or even runs out of fertilizer, resulting in relatively low corn yield.
III. Avoid using only a single fertilizer variety. Some farmers apply only urea when fertilizing summer corn fields, which supplies nitrogen to the corn and soil but does not supply phosphorus, potassium and other nutrients. This reduces the number of kernels per ear, lowers 1000-grain weight and reduces yield; lowers corn lodging resistance; and lowers corn resistance to disease and insects, making pest and disease damage more likely.
IV. Avoid improper mixed sowing of seed and fertilizer causing seedling burn. First, the fertilizer application rate is too high, often exceeding 7.5 kg per mu. Second, the fertilizer variety applied is improper. If quick-acting fertilizers such as urea are used, the rate per mu should be within 5 kg; if compound fertilizer is used, the application rate can be slightly higher. Third, there are reasons related to the seeding machinery: if the horizontal distance between the seeding band and the fertilizer band is too close (less than 5 cm), it easily causes seedling burn. The distance between seed and fertilizer should be more than 10 cm.
