To control rice planthoppers, you can refer to the following methods:
1. Plant at a reasonable density, improve the field microclimate, and increase the rice plant's disease resistance.

2. Fertilize reasonably, control nitrogen fertilizer, increase phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, and apply topdressing skillfully, so that the rice grows and develops early and quickly, increases the hardness of the plant, avoids the planthopper's attraction to tender growth, and reduces damage.

3. Irrigate scientifically: transplant seedlings in shallow water, tiller with water about one cun deep, dry the field once enough seedlings have developed, keep deep water at the booting stage, and irrigate moistly at the grain-filling stage. Through reasonable irrigation, promote robust growth of the rice plants and enhance their resistance.

4. Agricultural technology stations at all levels should strengthen field surveys, keep track of the occurrence trends of rice planthoppers in their areas at all times, and promptly guide farmers in control.

5. During the peak period of adult immigration or from the peak of nymph hatching to the peak occurrence of 2nd-3rd instar nymphs, that is, when there are 500 insects per 100 hills (early to mid-growth stage of rice) to 800 insects (mid-to-late growth stage of rice), begin pesticide control.

6. Control agents and methods of use.

1. Use 20-25 g of 25% Yuleide wettable powder per mu, diluted with 60-75 kg of water, and spray.

2. Use 40-60 g of 25% Pushi Ling wettable powder per mu, diluted with 60-75 kg of water, and spray.

3. For severely affected fields: use 30-35 g of 25% Yuleide wettable powder + 100 mL of 80% dichlorvos emulsifiable concentrate (or 60 mL of 40.8% Lesiben emulsifiable concentrate) per mu, diluted with 60-75 kg of water, and spray.

4. Precautions: the spray volume must be sufficient, and the spray should reach the base of the rice plants as much as possible; keep a 5-10 cm shallow water layer in the field when applying the pesticide.
