What kind of soil is suitable for planting Angelica sinensis? How to transplant? Please give guidance
For soil suitable for planting Angelica sinensis, you can refer to the following for treatment and transplanting:
(1) Site selection and land preparation. For the seedling site, it is best to choose a shady, cool, fertile and moist virgin land or cultivated land, with loose-textured, fertile sandy loam as the best; for the cultivation site, choose fallow land or secondary wasteland with deep soil layers. In mid-July, first cut down the shrubs and weeds, spread them on the ground, burn them, then plow the land deeper than 25 cm, and let it weather and mature in the sun. Then, before planting, while preparing the land, apply 37500 kg of decomposed barnyard manure per hectare and plow it into the soil as base fertilizer. Before sowing, shallow plow once more, make high beds 1.3 m wide, with a bed ditch 30 cm wide and the bed about 25 cm high, and open drainage ditches well around the perimeter.
(2) Transplanting. Generally, the suitable period for transplanting is around Qingming. If too early, the seedlings are prone to damage from late frost after emergence; if too late, the seedlings have already sprouted and are easily damaged at the buds, reducing the survival rate. On the leveled and finely raked planting land, dig holes in a staggered triangular arrangement at a row spacing of 33 cm x 27 cm, with holes 20 cm deep. Then, select seedlings with a root crown thickness of 0.3-0.5 cm, arrange 3 seedlings per hole in a triangular pattern, and plant them. After planting, cover with soil while pressing firmly. When the soil has covered half the hole, gently lift the seedlings upward so the root system spreads out, then cover with soil until the hole is full, apply an appropriate amount of plant ash or farmyard manure, and cover with fine soil just over the root crown of the seedlings by 2-3 cm.
