How to plant and manage cilantro (coriander)? Please give a detailed introduction
For cilantro (coriander) planting and management, you can refer to the following methods:
1. Variety selection. Choose varieties with strong stress resistance and a rich aroma, such as Tianjin coriander, Shandong large-leaf coriander, Laiyang coriander and Beijing coriander, etc.
Second, land preparation and fertilization. Choose cool, loose-textured, fertile sandy loam soil rich in organic matter, deep plow and then sun-dry the beds. Apply 1500-2000 kg of decomposed organic fertilizer, 10 kg of superphosphate and 5 kg of compound fertilizer per mu, and form beds 1.2-1.5 m wide.
Third, seed soaking and germination. The seed coat of coriander is relatively hard, so it should be rubbed open before sowing to facilitate sprouting. For summer cultivation, carry out seed soaking and low-temperature germination. After soaking the seeds for 24 hours, wrap them in a wet cloth and place them in an environment of about 20°C to germinate. When they show white after 3-4 days, they can be sown.
Fourth, sowing and shade net covering. For coriander sown in summer and autumn, direct sowing is best. The seeding rate is 1.5-2 kg per mu. After sowing, cover with a layer of fine soil 1 cm thick, then cover the bed surface with a shade net with a shading rate of 45%. After sowing, water thoroughly with a sprinkler. After emergence, raise the shade net to 80-100 cm and build a small flat shed to cover the bed surface until harvest is finished.
Fifth, fertilizer and water management. Do not water coriander too much at the seedling stage; watering once every 3-4 days is appropriate. During the vigorous growth period, water and fertilizer management must be strengthened to keep the soil surface moist. Fertilization should mainly use quick-acting fertilizers, applied together with watering. In the early stage, apply 1000 kg of dilute human manure or 4 kg of urea per mu 1-2 times; in the later stage, apply 5-10 kg of compound fertilizer diluted with water every 5-7 days.
Sixth, harvesting. When the seedlings emerge for 30-50 days and the plants are about 15-20 cm tall, they can be harvested by thinning. After each harvest, apply a light fertilizer once. Spray 20 ppm gibberellin 7-10 days before harvest to increase yield.
