How do you fertilize and control pests when planting astragalus? Please help explain the methods.
For astragalus fertilization and pest control, you can refer to the following methods:
1. Fertilization management. Astragalus prefers fertile soil, so in addition to applying sufficient base fertilizer, it also needs topdressing 2-3 times each year. The first time, after the seedlings are complete or after greening resumes, apply farmyard manure as topdressing; the second time, after intertillage and weeding, apply pen manure; the third time, for perennial astragalus after the plants wither in winter, apply 2000 kg of high-quality farmyard manure and 150 kg of cake fertilizer per mu, mix them evenly, and apply them in furrows between the rows, then earth up after application.
2. Disease and pest control: When underground pests such as white grubs are found during the growing period, use 90% solid trichlorfon diluted to a 1000-fold solution and drip-irrigate the plants; for aphids, spray with 40% dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate at 1000-fold dilution, and spraying during the green fruit stage also helps control the astragalus seed chalcid; for the bean pod borer at the newly hatched larval stage, use 50% malathion at 1500-2000-fold dilution; for powdery mildew, spray with lime sulfur mixture at 0.1-0.3 degrees Baume, or apply 70-100 g of triadimefon per mu diluted to a 500-fold solution and spray.
