As a leafy vegetable, lettuce easily fails to meet quality standards due to pesticide residues from pests and diseases. Lettuce has many pests and diseases, and they are difficult to treat. Chemical methods (pesticides) make control relatively easy and take effect quickly, but they affect lettuce quality and pose great harm to the health of consumers. Therefore, using cultivation methods (mainly rational fertilization) for control is an effective way to produce pollution-free lettuce.

In addition to basic fertilization methods, the following two points should be given special attention when producing pollution-free lettuce:

  1. Fully ferment organic fertilizer:
To produce pollution-free lettuce, organic fertilizer should be the main input, with less chemical fertilizer applied.
When using organic fertilizer as a base fertilizer or topdressing, special attention should be paid to ensuring the organic fertilizer is fully decomposed, preferably treated with a professional fermentation agent. This can not only reduce nutrient loss, but also thoroughly remove harmful substances such as pathogens and insect eggs in the organic fertilizer, eliminating sources of pests and diseases.

       2. Apply high-quality bacterial fertilizer:
Biological bacterial fertilizer not only contains large amounts of nitrogen-fixing, phosphate-solubilizing, and potassium-solubilizing active bacteria, but also contains organic matter, humic acid, and trace elements, and can be applied together with other fertilizers at any fertilization stage of lettuce. High-quality bacterial fertilizer can not only save the amount of fertilizer used, but also enhance lettuce's resistance to pests and diseases and solve problems such as soil compaction.
