Proper fertilization in sweet potato cultivation can prevent premature aging of the plants, maintain the leaves' assimilation capacity, promote the transport of nutrients to the storage roots, and thereby increase yields. Zhongdi Network has compiled fertilization methods for sweet potatoes, listed below for fellow gardeners' reference.

Method 1: For general plots, you can spray a mixture of 0.4%-0.5% urea and monopotassium phosphate, spraying once every 7-10 days for a total of 2-3 times, with 70-100 kg of fertilizer solution per mu each time. Spraying on a sunny evening is best.

Method 2: For plots with overly vigorous growth and relatively high fertility levels, you can spray a 0.2% monopotassium phosphate solution or a 2%-3% superphosphate extract.

Method 3: For weak-growing hilly slopes, plain sandy land, or plots showing a tendency toward premature aging, you can spray a 0.5% urea solution.

Method 4: Furrow irrigation: Use a 3%-5% potassium sulfate solution or a 10%-20% plant ash extract and pour it into the furrows along the ridges, using 100-150 kg of fertilizer solution per mu. For plots showing a tendency toward premature aging, a 2% compound fertilizer (NPK) solution can be applied as a top dressing.
