If you want to keep green beans fresh for a long time, you can refer to the following methods:

          1. Bag storage method: first lay the green beans row by row flat in a basket or wooden box, leaving a certain gap in between, and do not pack them too tightly. Then move them into the vegetable cellar, stack the baskets and boxes alternately, and cover them with plastic film to seal. At first, open the film once a day for ventilation. This method can store them for two months.

          2. Sand storage method: first spread a 5 cm thick layer of sand in the vegetable cellar, place green beans on top to a height of 5-7 cm, then alternate a layer of sand and a layer of green beans. After arranging three layers of green beans, cover with a 5 cm thick layer of sand. Turn the pile once every 10 days. This method can store them for 1-2 months.

          3. Chinese cabbage interplanting green bean storage method: before the Beginning of Autumn, sow two rows of green beans per bed. Around the End of Heat, transplant the Chinese cabbage sown around the Beginning of Autumn to the inner side of the green bean bed, 21-24 cm away from the green bean vines. Before the first frost, select green beans that are large, tender, not yet bulging with seeds, and growing in the middle part of the vine, pick them, and choose nearby Chinese cabbages that are growing vigorously. Slightly open each layer of leaves, insert the green beans straight down to the bottom of the leaves and leaf stalks, insert one between each pair of leaves, and insert one in the center as well, then tie the Chinese cabbage slightly so it continues to form a head. Generally, each Chinese cabbage can hold more than 20 green beans, weighing more than 250 grams. At the Beginning of Winter, harvest together with the Chinese cabbage, store in the cellar, and strengthen management. When it is time to sell, gently open the Chinese cabbage leaves and pull out the green beans. Green beans preserved this way stay as fresh and tender as when first picked.
