Honeysuckle brown spot disease:
1. Damage symptoms: This disease mainly damages the leaves. In the early stage of the disease, small yellowish-brown spots appear on the leaves. Later, several small spots merge together, forming round lesions or angular lesions limited by the leaf veins. When humid, the underside of the leaves also bears a gray frost-like substance, and when dry, the central part of the lesion tends to crack. When the disease is severe, the leaves turn yellow and drop early.
2. Control methods: (1) In the early stage of the disease, pay attention to removing diseased leaves to prevent the disease from spreading. (2) Strengthen cultivation management to improve the disease resistance of the plants. (3) Apply more organic fertilizer, control the application of N fertilizer, and apply more P and K fertilizers to promote robust tree growth and improve disease resistance. (4) In rainy seasons, pay attention to timely drainage to reduce soil moisture. (5) Prune appropriately to improve ventilation and light penetration, which helps control the occurrence of the disease. (6) During autumn and winter pruning, remove diseased branches and diseased buds, and sweep up fallen leaves on the ground to burn them in a concentrated manner or bury them deeply, so as to reduce the source of pathogens. (7) In the early stage of the disease, use 70% thiophanate-methyl wettable powder at 800 times dilution or 70% mancozeb wettable powder at 800 times dilution for control, spraying once every 7-10 days for 2-3 consecutive sprays. Note to alternate and rotate the chemicals, which gives good control efficacy.
