What should you do if yardlong beans suffer herbicide damage? What methods can save them? We ask fellow gardeners to help shareZhongdiwang has compiled the symptoms and prevention and control measures for herbicide damage in yardlong beans, listed below for fellow gardeners' reference.
Symptoms of herbicide damage in yardlong beans:
After accidental spraying of herbicide, the old leaves of the yardlong beans first dry up while the stems and vines remain green; as the yardlong beans grow, the new leaves become deformed and the leaf surface becomes wrinkled and uneven. If the yardlong beans are in the pod-setting stage, flowers drop. The plants grow poorly, seriously affecting yield.
Remedial measures for herbicide damage in yardlong beans:
Method 1, Rinsing with clean water: the period during which farmers spray herbicide is generally 7 to 10 days; during this period, spray the stems and leaves of the yardlong beans with water frequently to reduce the amount of herbicide residue on the stems and leaves.
Method 2, Timely topdressing: topdressing is mainly ammonium bicarbonate or urea, and can also be appropriately combined with some phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. The amount of topdressing should be determined according to the severity of the herbicide damage and the growth of the yardlong beans.
Method 3, Watering adequately: water promptly after topdressing to promote the fertilizer effect as quickly as possible and reduce the relative concentration of harmful substances in the yardlong bean plants.
Method 4, Foliar spraying of plant growth regulators and foliar fertilizer: spraying a mixture of brassin at 7500 times dilution plus foliar fertilizer gives better results. According to the degree of herbicide damage, spray once every 10 to 15 days, for 1 to 3 consecutive sprays.
