        The harm anthracnose does to yams:
        In the early stage of the disease, slightly sunken brown spots appear on the leaf veins, continuously expanding into dark brown lesions, with irregular concentric rings in the middle, on which small black dots are borne, namely the pathogen's acervuli.
        When the stem base is affected, dark brown water-soaked lesions appear, later slightly sunken inward, causing stem blight and leaf drop.

        The factors contributing to yam anthracnose:
        It occurs in June, and the conidia spread through wind and rain, expanding the damage, continuing until the yam harvest. When the temperature is 25-30°C and the relative humidity is 80%, the disease is severe.

        Methods for preventing and controlling anthracnose in yams:
        Method 1: After the yam harvest, clean the field, sweep up diseased plant residues and fallen leaves, and burn them in a concentrated pile or compost them;

        Method 2: Before planting, disinfect the seed stock by soaking it in Bordeaux mixture (1:1:150) for 10-15 minutes to reduce the bacteria carried by the seed stock;

        Method 3: In the early stage of the disease, remove the diseased leaves, then spray 30% triflumizole wettable powder at 1500-2000 times dilution, or 80% zineb wettable powder at 500-600 times dilution, once every 7 days, spraying 2-3 times consecutively.
