The harm and control methods of the rice leafminer. Zhongdi Web gives a detailed introduction and control methods below for the reference of fellow netizens.

        Harm of the rice leafminer:
The leafminer, also known as the rice leafminer, occurs more frequently in rice-producing areas of the northern provinces. Its larvae mine and feed on the leaf mesophyll. Each 1 leaf may have as few as 2-3 larvae, or as many as 7-8. When it occurs early and in large numbers, it causes rice leaves to wither and rot, affecting the normal growth and development of rice and causing reduced yield, and even causing large numbers of rice seedlings to die.

Control methods for the rice leafminer:

       1. Method of destroying the leafminer's living environment:
In spring and autumn, clear weeds along the edges of fields and ditches to reduce insect sources, which can reduce the harm of the leafminer. For leafminer damage in the main field, sun-drying the field or shallow-water irrigation can play an insect-control role.

       2. Chemical control method:

1-2 days before rice transplanting, use 10% imidacloprid 3000-fold solution or 40% omethoate 1000-fold solution, or 5-6 grams of Aimeile per 100 sq m or 6 grams of 25% Actara water-dispersible granules mixed with 1.5 liters of water for spray control. Preventing on the seedling bed achieves twice the result with half the effort.
You can also use 30-40 milliliters of Kubi mixed with 1.5 liters of water for spraying, or 30 milliliters of 3% acetamiprid emulsifiable concentrate per mu, mixed with 15 kg of water for spray control. Ensure that seedlings are transplanted to the main field with the pesticide, to control the leafminer in the main field.

In the paddy field, based on the investigation of insect conditions on rice seedlings after transplanting, determine the appropriate control period. Use 1125-1500 milliliters of 40% dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate per hectare plus water for spraying, or 1500-2250 grams of 40% trichlorfon crystals plus water for spraying. Use at most 3 times, with a safety interval of no less than 7 days.
