Lettuce downy mildew is a common disease of lettuce and occurs in all regions. Lettuce downy mildew is a disease mainly caused by infection with fungi of the genus Peronospora in the subdivision Mastigomycotina. It generally damages crop leaves.
On lettuce leaves affected by downy mildew, the lesions initially appear as small yellow nearly round spots, then develop into yellowish-brown lesions, and the lesions become polygonal because they are restricted by the leaf veins.

Lettuce downy mildew generally occurs under rainy and humid conditions, and white mold-like growth appears on the lesions on the underside of the leaves.

Control methods for lettuce downy mildew:In the early stage of the disease, use 58% Ridomil MZ powder at 1000 times dilution; or 72.2% Previcur water agent at 800 times dilution, spraying once every 7-10 days, with 2-3 consecutive sprays for control.
