Sorghum aphids are a major pest on sorghum, mostly pale yellow in body color, with a few purplish red; they gather on the undersides of leaves to cause damage, gradually spreading from the lower leaves to the middle and upper leaves, sucking sap and seriously harming the growth and development of sorghum.

Sorghum aphids can be controlled by referring to the following methods:
Use 0.1 kg of 40% dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate per mu, mix with 10 kg of fine sand, and broadcast it onto the plant leaves; or spray with 50% pirimicarb wettable powder at 800 times dilution. Or use 40% omethoate combined with 10% imidacloprid for a joint application, which has a significant effect (note: avoid applying the pesticide in high-temperature weather to prevent poisoning incidents; applying it before 10 a.m. or after 5 p.m. is safer).
