To increase pepper yield when growing peppers, you can use the following methods:
When peppers enter the growth period, the number of lateral branches increases rapidly, leading to severe canopy closure in the field later on. To ensure normal pepper growth, it is necessary to prune branches and train the plants so as to ensure the growth of the pepper fruit.

Pruning pepper branches:Generally, all lateral branches below the first pepper (the "door pepper") are removed entirely. On one hand, this reduces nutrient consumption by the plant; on the other hand, it helps prevent disease occurrence.

Defoliating peppers:Remove old leaves, not new ones. Remove old leaves, diseased leaves, yellow leaves and damaged leaves from the lower part of the plant, while keeping the effective leaves in the middle and upper parts of the plant.

Training pepper plants:Remove inner branches, not outer ones. Because the inner branches of peppers receive little light and bear poor fruit, they should be specifically removed. The strong outer branches of the plant have more space, good light exposure and strong growth, so they can be kept as fruiting branches to increase overall yield.

Two points need attention: First, because viral diseases can spread through contact during artificial pruning and branch removal, virus-diseased plants need to be "treated" separately. Second, during pruning and branch removal, if diseased fruit or diseased stems are found, they should be dealt with promptly.
