Zhongdiwang has compiled the harm and control methods of potato late blight, listed below for netizens' reference.

The harm of potato late blight:

Late blight spreads quickly, and the affected stems and leaves soon rot and die, mostly occurring after flowering; potato leaves, stems and tubers can all be harmed by late blight. In the early stage of the disease, leaf lesions mostly begin at the leaf tip or leaf margin. When humid, they expand rapidly, rot and turn black, and the lesion edges are indistinct. A special rotting odor is given off, a ring of white mold grows on the leaf margin, and dense white mold grows on the back of the leaf, forming mold rings.

When the weather is dry, the lesions dry up and turn brown, with no white mold on the leaf back. When field humidity is high, there is dew in the morning and evening, it is often cloudy and rainy, and the temperature is not lower than 10°C, late blight occurs severely.

Control methods for potato late blight:
Before and after potato flowering, after finding central diseased plants in the field, immediately pull them out and bury them deep, and spray chemicals for control. Kailu 100 g/mu can be used to spray the whole field evenly for preventive protective control; with Yikuaijing 40 g per mu, the spray application interval is 5-10 days; under normal weather conditions, apply once every 7-10 days, 25% metalaxyl wettable powder 800-fold solution, or 65% zineb wettable powder 500-fold solution, 64% sandofan wettable powder 500-fold solution, 40% fosetyl-aluminum wettable powder 500-fold solution, 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder 600-800-fold solution spray.

Spray once every 7-10 days, for 2-3 consecutive sprays. If drought and little rain, the interval between sprays can be appropriately extended.
Under high-humidity and rainy conditions, apply once every 5-7 days. The number of applications can be appropriately adjusted according to the size of the disease occurrence risk.
