How to manage grafted cucumber seedlings? Is there anything to watch out for? Experienced gardeners, please help guide usThe survival rate of grafted seedlings is very closely related to the management techniques after grafting. Zhongdiwang has compiled the management methods for grafted cucumber seedlings, listed below for gardeners' reference.
1. Keeping grafted cucumber seedlings warm:
The suitable temperature for the healing of grafted seedling wounds is around 25°C. The graft union heals very slowly under low-temperature conditions, which affects the survival rate.
2. Maintaining moisture for grafted cucumber seedlings:
If the relative air humidity in the grafting bed is relatively low, the scion is prone to water loss and wilting, which will seriously affect the survival rate of grafted seedlings. Within 3 to 5 days after grafting, keep the relative air humidity inside the small arch tunnel at 85%-95%.
3. Shade protection for grafted cucumber seedlings:
Cover the outside of the tunnel with sparse reed curtains or shade netting to avoid direct sunlight on the seedlings, which can cause the scion to wilt; it also provides warmth at night.
4. Ventilation of the greenhouse:
From 3 to 5 days after grafting, ventilation can begin when the grafted seedlings start to grow. The ventilation openings should be small at first, then gradually increased.
5. Timely root cutting of the scion:
For cucumber seedlings grafted by the approach grafting method, the scion roots can be cut 10 days after the grafted seedlings are planted.
