How are spinach seedlings cultivated? How should spinach seeds be treated before sowing? We ask knowledgeable netizens to help explain

Zhongdiwang has compiled the pre-sowing treatment methods for spinach seeds and the cultivation methods for spinach seedlings, listed in detail below for netizens' reference.

      Pre-sowing treatment of spinach seeds:

       Soaking spinach seeds:
Because the seed coat of spinach seeds is covered with a layer of gelatinous substance, sowing by conventional methods results in slow and uneven emergence, so spinach seeds need to be soaked before sowing.

Mix the undiluted hydrogen peroxide solution with water at a 1:4 ratio, and stir thoroughly to prepare a 20%-25% hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution. Put the prepared hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution into a container, and when pouring in the seeds, stir with a wooden stick while pouring so that all the seeds can absorb water evenly. If the temperature is below 20°C, the soaking time needs to be 100 minutes-120 minutes; when the temperature is above 20°C and below 30°C, the soaking time is 60 minutes-90 minutes; when the temperature is above 30°C, a soaking time of 30 minutes-50 minutes is sufficient.

       Precautions for soaking spinach seeds:
       1. Before soaking the seeds in the hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution, the vegetable seeds kept at home or purchased should be selected and sun-dried in the sun on a sunny day for 4 hours-6 hours, and debris and unfilled seeds should be removed.
       2. Use a Bai Jun Qing aqueous solution to sterilize the seeds that have already been soaked and sprouted.
       3. Seeds that have been soaked, sprouted and sterilized should be sown in time.

Sprouting spinach seeds:Remove the seeds from the hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution, then rinse them with clean water 3 times-4 times (rinsing while draining the water), and after draining, put them in a container and cover them with a wet cloth to sprout.

       Cultivation of spinach seedlings:
After sowing spinach, secure the greenhouse frame properly. Generally, two waterings bring the seedlings out evenly, and water once more 10 days after emergence. After the two true leaves of spinach unfold, the leaf number, leaf weight and leaf area increase rapidly. Before 3 to 4 leaves, keep the soil moist, apply 25 kg of ammonium bicarbonate per mu as a top dressing, hoe shallowly once, thin out the seedlings that are too dense, and control water appropriately. Around "Minor Snow" in November, pay attention to keeping warm, and ventilate at noon to remove moisture.
To bring the crop to market earlier, a small arched shed can be set up during the overwintering period. After late January, spinach begins to turn green again, and ventilation should be gradually increased. The shed temperature should preferably not exceed 25°C; when the temperature is too high, the spinach plants become weak and spindly, the leaves curl, quality declines, and yield decreases. Also pay attention to watering well for the greening-up stage, apply 25 kg of ammonium bicarbonate as a top dressing along with the water, then water once every 7 to 10 days and apply fertilizer once more.
