The harm of Salvia miltiorrhiza southern blight:
Southern blight mainly damages the roots of Salvia miltiorrhiza. In the early stage of the disease, white silky sclerotia appear from the stem base to near the main root in the surface soil layer, the roots suffer from wet rot, and in the later stage the aboveground branches and leaves of the plant wilt and die. When the weather is humid, white mycelium and sclerotia resembling mouse droppings are often present at the stem base of diseased plants. In years with severe occurrence, the yield of Salvia miltiorrhiza drops sharply.

Prevention and control methods for Salvia miltiorrhiza southern blight:
        1. Select robust, disease-free seeds; implement paddy-upland rotation or rotation with gramineous crops.

        2. In the early stage of the disease, promptly dig out diseased plants, remove them together with the soil, and concentrate them for composting; pour 50% carbendazim 600-fold solution or 50% procymidone 1500-fold solution into the disease holes; or use Trichoderma preparation at 10-15 grams per sq m, broadcast it, and then loosen the soil.
