What damage does the rice leaf beetle cause? What control methods are there? We also ask netizens to help introduce them.Zhongdiwang has compiled the damage caused by the rice leaf beetle and its control methods, listed below for netizens' reference.
Damage caused by the rice leaf beetle:
The leaf beetle mainly damages rice seedlings and rice plants in paddy fields. Adults and larvae feed on the leaf mesophyll along the leaf veins, and at the leaf tips they eat through the epidermis. In outbreak years, severely affected rice plants all turn white, or the rice plants grow yellow and weak, with uneven heading and reduced rice yield. In addition to damaging rice, the affected crops also include foxtail millet, broomcorn millet, wheat, barley, corn, reed, broomcorn millet, and wild rice stem.
Control methods for the rice leaf beetle:
Method 1: In combination with manure accumulation, remove weeds in winter and spring to kill overwintering adults.
Method 2: In combination with intertillage, first use a bamboo pole to knock the larvae down and press them into the soil.
Method 3: Use 20% fenvalerate-malathion emulsifiable concentrate at 50 ml per mu, or 30% high-efficiency triazophos at 100-150 ml, or 20% fenpropathrin at 35-40 ml, mixed with 50 kg of water for spraying.
