The harm caused by corn aphids:
Corn aphids mainly damage crops such as corn, sorghum, wheat, and foxtail millet, sucking plant sap as adults and nymphs. During the seedling stage, aphids gather on the undersides of leaves and in the heart leaves, causing damage. In mild cases, they cause poor corn growth; in severe cases, plant growth stalls, and the seedlings may even die.

In addition, they can also transmit maize dwarf mosaic virus, causing yield reductions to varying degrees.

       Control methods for corn aphids:

Method 1: Protecting natural enemies of aphids:
Note that during the corn seedling stage, when there are relatively large numbers of ladybugs, hoverflies, and lacewings among the weeds, try to avoid chemical control or choose pesticides that are harmless to natural enemies.

       Method 2: Using chemical control:

Control should mainly be carried out before the aphids outbreak: 1. Spraying: use 10-15 grams of 10% imidacloprid wettable powder per 667 sq m, add 30 kg of water; 2. Root zone application: use 100-150 milliliters of 40% phoxim emulsifiable concentrate per 667 sq m, mix with 10-15 kg of fine soil, and at the initial stage of corn aphid occurrence, open a furrow around the plant root zone and bury and apply.
