The propagation methods for Paris polyphylla generally include two: seed propagation and rhizome propagation. Zhongdiwang has specially compiled the two propagation methods for Paris polyphylla, listed in detail below for readers' reference.

       Paris polyphylla seed propagation method:
Generally, Paris polyphylla seeds mature from August to October. After harvesting the mature Paris polyphylla seeds, mix them with wet sand and store them for later use, or sow them immediately after harvesting. Those stored in wet sand are sown in early spring of the following year, in March to April. After sowing, cover with fine soil about 3 cm, then cover the bed surface with grass and water to keep it moist.

After sowing, Paris polyphylla seeds generally emerge in the spring of the following year in places with higher temperatures, and only emerge in the spring of the third year in places with lower temperatures. When the seedlings emerge, remove the covering grass and build a shade shed. After emergence, continue cultivating the seedlings for 2-3 years. When the seedlings grow 7 leaves, transplant and set them in the field in autumn from October to November or in early spring from March to April. The row spacing for setting is 15-20 cm, and the plant spacing is 10-15 cm.

        Paris polyphylla rhizome propagation method:
When propagating Paris polyphylla by rhizome, generally dig up the rhizome in late autumn after the plants wither or in early spring before budding, cut it off from the 3rd to 5th node counting backward from the stem tip, and use it as seed root. Plant it in the same way with a plant spacing of 10-15 cm and a row spacing of 15-20 cm.

When planting Paris polyphylla, it is best to make full use of the space under walnut forests. This can not only utilize the land resources under the forest, but also satisfy Paris polyphylla's environmental requirements of preferring cool, shady and moist conditions, which is beneficial to the growth of Paris polyphylla.
