What are the common pests and diseases of rice? How to prevent and control them? We also ask experienced rice growers to help introduce this.

Nearly half the world's population relies on rice as a staple food, but during rice cultivation it is often harmed by rice blast, bacterial leaf blight, bacterial leaf streak, sheath blight, rice false smut, and rice planthoppers and rice stem borers, so Zhongdi Web has compiled the control methods for the above rice diseases, listed in detail above for netizens' reference.

   I. Control methods for rice blast:
1. Control of rice leaf blast:
When lesions appear in the field, use 100 g of 20% tricyclazole wettable powder, dilute in 45 kg of water and spray for control; 15 mL of 30% Jiemiao emulsifiable concentrate, dilute in 45 kg of water and spray for control; 50% sulfur triazole 200-250 mL/mu, applied twice in succession, once every 5-7 days.

  2. Control of rice panicle blast:The best time to control rice blast is the boot splitting stage. Choose the following chemicals: 75% tricyclazole wettable powder at 30 g per mu; or 40% Fuji No. 1 emulsifiable concentrate at 150 mL per mu; choose either of the two chemicals, dilute in 45 kg of water and spray for control, applied three times in succession, once every 5-7 days.

II. Control methods for rice bacterial leaf blight and bacterial leaf streak:
When lesions appear in the field, apply chemicals immediately for control. Choose the following chemicals: 25% Chuanhua 018 wettable powder at 100 g per mu, dilute in 45 kg of water and spray for control; or use agricultural streptomycin at 2 packets per mu diluted in 45 kg of water and spray for control.

III. Control methods for rice sheath blight:
The best time for control is the booting stage. Choose the following chemicals: use 2 packets of validamycin per mu of rice, dilute in 45 kg of water and spray for control; or use 75% Daocurivekling wettable powder at 40 g per mu, dilute in 45 kg of water and spray for control; at the same time, 20 mL of 30% Jiemiao emulsifiable concentrate diluted in 45 kg of water can be used for spray control.

IV. Control methods for rice false smut:
Rice false smut mainly occurs in the late growth stage. For control timing, seize the booting stage or heading stage. Choose the following chemicals: (1) use 2 packets of validamycin plus 100 g of 15% triadimefon per mu, dilute in 45 kg of water and spray for control; (2) 25 mL of 30% Jiemiao emulsifiable concentrate diluted in 45 kg of water and spray for control. (3) 70% Nasijin wettable powder at 40 g per mu diluted in 45 kg of water and spray for control.

  V. Control methods for rice planthoppers:
Rice planthoppers mainly inhabit the base of the rice clump, sucking plant sap, causing rice plants to turn yellow and affecting yield. Choose the following control chemicals: you can choose 25% Youlede wettable powder at 30 g per mu; or 25% metolcarb wettable powder at 100 g per mu, dilute in 45 kg of water and spray for control; you can also use 20% Yamangling emulsifiable concentrate at 100 mL per mu diluted in 45 kg of water and spray for control. You can also use saiqinone or 10% imidacloprid at 30 g/mu diluted in 45 kg of water and spray for control.

VI. Control methods for rice stem borers:
After rice stem borers damage rice, they cause dead hearts or white heads. Choose the following control chemicals: use 98% cartap original powder at 30 g per mu of rice mixed with 25 kg of fine soil and broadcast; or use 50% Mingpa wettable powder at 80 g per mu of rice diluted in 45 kg of water and spray for control; at the same time, 150 mL of 25% quinalphos emulsifiable concentrate diluted in 45 kg of water can also be used for spray control.
