Classification Methods and Common Types of Rice Bran
Rice is one of humanity's main food grains, and rice is rarely used to feed livestock. What serves as feed is mainly the by-product of processing rice into milled rice - rice bran, whose nutritional value varies greatly depending on the processing method. Due to differences in rice processing methods, rice bran can be divided into rice hulls, rice bran, and rice mill by-product. Rice hulls are the husk (glume) powder removed when rice is processed into brown rice, amounting to about 20% of the rice's mass

Introduction to the Characteristics of the Late Japonica Rice Variety Zhejing 30
I. Variety Introduction "Zhejing 30" was developed by the Institute of Crops and Nuclear Technology Utilization, Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, in the spring of 1995 by crossing Xiushui 63 as the female parent with R9475. Through years of south propagation and north breeding, it was developed using a breeding method that combines low-generation selection for appearance quality (grain shape, transparency, chalkiness degree, chalkiness rate) and resistance identification in disease nurseries, with high-generation determination of physicochemical quality such as amylose content, taste testing, and resistance identification. It has been entered in trials at various levels since 1999, and passed the approval of the Zhejiang Provincial Variety Approval Committee in March 2003.

New bamboo-rice varieties successfully bred at the Meizhou research base
Recently, the author learned from the bamboo-rice research base of the Meizhou Agricultural School in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province that various experiments on drought resistance, disease resistance and ratooning ability of bamboo rice will be carried out here this year, and scientific research on new varieties such as the special bamboo rice "bamboo purple rice" will also be launched. At the same time, bamboo rice 966 and bamboo rice 989 will continue regional trials across the province. Meizhou City has also set up 6 sites in Jiaoling, Meixian, Xingning and Wuhua counties and cities, totaling 300 mu, for trial demonstration planting of bamboo-rice cultivation techniques. The agricultural school has opened a test base to conduct drought-resistance tests on bamboo rice 966 and disease-resistance tests on bamboo rice 989.

Introduction to the Xindao 93918 rice variety
This variety was developed by hybridization. Outstanding characteristics: extremely early maturing, about 25 days earlier than Yujing 6; when grown as wheat-stubble rice in the Yellow River rice region, the whole growth period is 124-127 days. Plant height about 100 cm, strong tillering ability, leaves held upright, good color retention at maturity, relatively strong disease resistance and lodging resistance. The rice quality is crystal clear and translucent with good eating quality; new rice comes to market early, increasing returns by 0.4-0.6 yuan per kg of rice. High yield; in variety comparison and demonstration trials from 1997 to 1999, the average yield per mu was 500.5 kg

The new high-quality conventional rice variety Yexianzhan No. 8 was bred by the Huizhou Municipal Institute of Agricultural Sciences in Guangdong.
Yexianzhan No. 8 was bred by the Huizhou Municipal Institute of Agricultural Sciences in Guangdong through the cross of Guiyizhan No. 2 / Texianzhan 13 // IR24. In 2002 and 2003, it took part in the late-season regional trial of the high-quality group in Guangdong Province, with average yields of 405.91 kg and 454.47 kg per mu, increasing yield by 10.64% and 9.25% respectively compared with the control variety Jingxian 89, and both yield increases were extremely significant. In 2003, it took part in the provincial production trial in the late season with an average yield of 446.7 kg per mu, an increase of 7.48% over the control. The rice quality was tested and identified by the Food

How to control pests and weeds in single-season rice seedling fields? Here are the control recommendations
I. Weed control in seedling fields 1. Weed control before plowing: 7-10 days before plowing the seedling bed, use 41% glyphosate 150 ml/mu or 10% glyphosate 1000 ml/mu diluted in 30 kg of water for fine spraying to control old weeds before sowing. 2. Weed control after sowing: ① 1-2 days after sowing germinated seeds, use 17.2% bensulfuron-methyl and piperophos wettable powder (Youhebao) 210 g/mu diluted in 45 kg of water for fine spraying. ② At the needle-standing stage of seedlings, use 40% bensulfuron-methyl and pretilachlor wettable

Rice quality amylose tester successfully developed through the 948 Program
To fundamentally improve the current rice quality, namely the amylose content of rice, in 2001 the Ministry of Agriculture included the "Rice Quality Amylose Tester" project in the "948" Program. Organized and implemented by China Agricultural University, the project aimed to develop, through this research, a high-quality paddy quality testing instrument suitable for all stages and all levels. Under the leadership of project leader Professor Jia Guiru, Director of the Department of Applied Physics at China Agricultural University, the project has now been completed and has achieved remarkable results. It is reported that the rice

Rice midge harms rice, how can it be controlled effectively?
Rice midge, commonly known as red worm or red thread worm, damages the young roots and young shoots of rice with its larvae, causing floating seedlings, and feeds on the embryo and endosperm of ungerminated seeds, preventing the seeds from germinating. Rice seedling fields and direct-seeded fields suffer severe damage. The adult is a small moth, with wings shorter than the body; when resting, the front legs are raised and swing up and down. The larvae are red or pale yellow, with a limb-like protrusion on the ventral side of the prothorax. It occurs 2-3 generations per year, and the first generation damages rice. It overwinters as nymphs and adults in weeds. Adults appear in early May of the second year, and lay eggs in late May.

What are the reasons why rice seedlings are slow to tiller?
1. Rice bakanae disease: Disease pattern and transmission routes: The pathogen of rice bakanae disease overwinters on grains and rice straw. The following year, when diseased seeds or straw are used, the pathogen multiplies as the seeds germinate, invading through the seedling coleoptile or wounds, causing the seedlings to develop the disease and become leggy. Diseased seedlings often wither and die. Diseased seedlings that do not die are pale yellow-green, grow thin and elongated, generally about one-third taller than healthy seedlings; their roots develop poorly, with few tillers or even no tillering. After diseased seedlings are transplanted, they carry the pathogen to the field, causing rice plants to develop the disease. When rice heads and flowers

Practical methods for raising water temperature when growing rice with well water
The biggest drawback of growing rice with well water is the low water temperature, which affects the good growth and development of rice, leading to reduced yield and poor quality. Therefore, raising the water temperature when growing rice with well water is crucial. The specific technical measures are: 1. Set up a solar warming pond to raise the water temperature. Adding a solar warming pond is an effective measure to raise the water temperature when growing rice with well water. The area of the solar warming pond should be based on actual conditions and adapted to local circumstances. Generally, the area of the solar warming pond should be 1500-2000 sq m, preferably reaching about 1/20 of the irrigation area of the pump. According to experimental research, 2
