A Detailed Guide to Tree Planting Methods and Key Technical Points
A tree is a tall woody plant with an independent trunk arising from the roots, and with a clear distinction between trunk and crown. A woody plant with an upright trunk, usually reaching 6 to several tens of meters in height, is called a tree. Such plants are often large in stature and have a distinct, tall trunk. They can also be divided by height into four grades: great trees (over 31 m), large trees (21-30 m), medium trees (11-20 m) and small trees (6-10 m).
What trees are there:
The tall trees usually seen are all trees, such as tamarind, kapok, pine, magnolia and Hongsen pagoda tree. Trees are also divided by whether they shed their leaves in winter or the dry season into deciduous trees and evergreen trees. Other examples include kapok, pine, magnolia and white birch. Shrub type: a woody plant with a short stature (usually under 6 m), a low trunk and an indistinct trunk, growing in a clumped state and often sending out multiple stems from the base, is called a shrub.
Trees are widely distributed, and basically every known place has trees growing, including harsh environments such as the Gobi Desert and deserts. They are most numerous on continents with a warm, humid environment.
- In line with the principle of saving water, the use of compliant reclaimed water or collected rainwater is encouraged.
- Water at the right time and in the right amount according to the tree species, season and site conditions.
- In the dry season, water more; in the rainy season, water less or not at all; during the sprouting and growing period, water more; before the dormant period, control the amount of water appropriately.
- Water at the right time according to the biological characteristics of the tree variety. Watering should soak through; before watering, a berm should be built, and the berm should be neat, compact and impervious to water. The diameter of the berm depends on the diameter at breast height (crown width) of the planted tree.
- After watering the tree pit, it should be sealed at the right time; if it is not sealed, the surface soil should be loosened in time after it dries.
- Watering should use a water source whose physical and chemical indicators, such as pH and mineralization, meet the growth needs of the tree, ensuring the water source pH is between 5.5 and 8.0 and the mineralization is below 0.25 g/L.
- Water to green up and water before freezing must be applied, and the pit should be sealed in time after watering before freezing.
- Standing water in the tree pit should be drained in time. For trees that cannot tolerate waterlogging, standing water should be drained within 12 h.
- Do a good job of protecting conifers, and avoid or reduce harm to conifers when watering.
- Irrigation facilities should be in good condition, and there should be no leakage, overflow, dripping or seepage.
