What Kind of Fertilizer Is Nitrogen-Containing Single Superphosphate and How to Apply It Scientifically
Nitrogen-containing single superphosphate is a nitrogen-phosphorus compound fertilizer made from ordinary single superphosphate as the base, processed through ammoniation treatment or by adding nitrogen components. It not only retains the water-soluble phosphorus and nutrients such as calcium and sulfur in single superphosphate, but also supplements nitrogen, giving it relatively comprehensive nutrients; in agricultural production it is mostly used as a base fertilizer and early-stage topdressing.
In terms of characteristics, most of the phosphorus in nitrogen-containing single superphosphate exists in the form of water-soluble phosphorus, which makes it easy for crop roots to absorb and utilize. After ammoniation treatment, the corrosiveness and hygroscopicity of the free acid are reduced, making storage, transportation and application more convenient. The medium elements such as calcium and sulfur in it also help to improve soil structure and promote root development, making it especially suitable for use on soils deficient in phosphorus or calcium.
When applying it, deep placement as a base fertilizer should be the main method, and the soil should be covered promptly after application to reduce nitrogen volatilization losses. If used as a seed fertilizer, it must be kept at an appropriate distance from the seeds to prevent burning the seeds and seedlings. Nitrogen-containing single superphosphate should not be mixed directly with alkaline fertilizers such as plant ash or lime, otherwise the availability of phosphorus will be affected; during storage it should be placed in a dry, ventilated place to avoid moisture and caking.
In actual production, nitrogen-containing single superphosphate can be used as a base fertilizer for various crops such as grain crops and vegetables, often applied by broadcasting into the soil in combination with plowing. The specific amount should be flexibly controlled according to the soil fertility level and the fertilizer requirements of the crops, avoiding blind excessive application. Using it together with organic fertilizers and other chemical fertilizers can better bring out its fertilizer efficiency.
