Indoor flowering and bonsai plants is a general term for ornamental flowers and bonsai-type plants placed in indoor spaces. It includes both foliage and flowering plants such as pothos, spider plant, money tree and clivia, and also covers small bonsai shaped and pruned from plants such as Buddhist pine, banyan and asparagus fern. They have compact forms and are relatively easy to manage, making them suitable for placement in living rooms, studies and on windowsills, where they can decorate the home and add vitality.

In terms of classification, indoor flowering and bonsai plants can be broadly divided into foliage types, flowering types and shaped bonsai types. Foliage types are valued for leaf shape and color and have good shade tolerance, making them the mainstream choice for indoor display; flowering types have bright flower colors but usually need more abundant light; shaped bonsai types emphasize plant form and artistic conception and often require long-term pruning and wiring to maintain their posture.

In terms of care, the three things that need the most attention for indoor flowering and bonsai plants are light, watering and ventilation. Most indoor plants like bright indirect light and should be placed as close to a window as possible; watering should follow the principle of letting the soil dry between waterings to avoid long-term waterlogging in the pot that can cause root rot; opening windows often for ventilation can reduce pests and diseases caused by stuffy, humid conditions. In addition, regularly turning the pot allows the plant to receive light evenly and grow more symmetrically.

For beginners, it is advisable to start with shade-tolerant, easy-to-grow varieties such as pothos, spider plant and snake plant, and then try shaped bonsai such as Buddhist pine and banyan after gaining experience. As long as placement is arranged according to each plant's habits and water and fertilizer management is done well, indoor flowering and bonsai plants can maintain a good ornamental state all year round and add a touch of natural charm to home life.
