Artificial plants are decorative items made from materials such as plastic, silk fabric, silicone and resin, crafted to imitate the form and color of real plants. As manufacturing techniques keep improving, the leaf texture and color of many products are now quite lifelike, and it is hard to tell real from fake without a close look. They can be single stems of flowers, or complete sets of green potted plants or large landscape trees.

Compared with real plants, the biggest advantage of artificial plants is that they need almost no care: no watering, fertilizing or pruning, and no restriction from light, temperature or season. Placement is extremely flexible, so dim corners, air-conditioned rooms, bathrooms and other places where real plants struggle to survive can all be decorated with confidence. However, they do not purify the air, and long exposure to strong sun or damp conditions may cause fading and deterioration.

Common categories of artificial plants are very rich: there are green potted plants such as artificial pothos, Swiss cheese plant and areca palm, artificial flowers such as roses, hydrangeas and moth orchids, and large-scale landscaping products such as artificial lawns, artificial banyan trees and artificial coconut palms. Sizes range from small desktop ornaments to floor-standing landscape trees several meters tall, meeting the decorative needs of different settings.

These products are widely used in homes, offices, shopping malls, hotels and other places, and are also common in wedding setups and commercial displays. Daily care is simple: just wipe them regularly with a dry cloth or remove dust with a hair dryer on the cool setting. Try to avoid direct sunlight and damp locations when placing them, and they will stay beautiful for a long time.
