Urea-based ammonium phosphate is a high-concentration nitrogen-phosphorus compound fertilizer.
Urea-based ammonium phosphate is a high-concentration nitrogen-phosphorus compound fertilizer made with urea as the nitrogen source, combined with monoammonium phosphate or diammonium phosphate. The "urea-based" in the name means that its nitrogen comes mainly from urea, distinguishing it from nitro-based, chloro-based and other types. It combines the two major elements nitrogen and phosphorus, has a relatively high nutrient content, and is one of the common compound fertilizer varieties in agricultural production.
In terms of form, urea-based ammonium phosphate is mostly processed into granules, though some products are powdery; it has good water solubility and is convenient for mechanized application. Because the ammonium phosphate raw materials used differ, products vary in their nitrogen-to-phosphorus ratio, so when purchasing you can check the nutrient label on the package and choose a suitable type according to soil conditions and crop needs.
Urea-based ammonium phosphate can be used as a base fertilizer or as a topdressing, and is suitable for grain crops, vegetables, fruit trees and many other crops; its effect is especially obvious on phosphorus-deficient soils. When used as a base fertilizer, it should be applied deeply and covered with soil, kept at an appropriate distance from the seeds to avoid burning the seeds and seedlings; when used as a topdressing, it can be applied in furrows or holes, and watered promptly after application to help nutrient release and absorption.
It should also be noted that urea-based ammonium phosphate should not be mixed directly with alkaline substances such as plant ash, to avoid ammonia volatilization and nutrient loss. When applied to paddy fields, the amount should be controlled and attention paid to retaining water and nutrients, reducing nitrogen loss. If fertilization is matched to the soil and reasonably combined with potassium fertilizer and organic fertilizer, its fertilizer efficiency can be better brought into play.
