The Functions, Characteristics and Application Methods of Humic Acid Boron Magnesium Fertilizer
Humic acid boron magnesium is a functional fertilizer that combines humic acid with the two elements boron and magnesium. Humic acid comes from organic matter formed by the decomposition of animal and plant residues and has strong adsorption and chelating capacity; boron is a trace element essential for crop flowering and fruit setting, while magnesium is an important component of chlorophyll. Applied together, the three can both nourish the soil and roots and supplement medium and trace elements, making this fertilizer suitable for use on plots deficient in boron and magnesium or on crops that are relatively sensitive to boron and magnesium.
In terms of function, humic acid can improve soil aggregate structure, enhance water and fertilizer retention capacity, and promote root development; the element boron participates in pollen germination and fertilization, and when boron is deficient, crops are prone to problems such as flowering without setting fruit, flower and fruit drop, and poor fruit development; magnesium deficiency often manifests as interveinal chlorosis and yellowing of old leaves, affecting photosynthesis. Reasonable application of humic acid boron magnesium offers certain benefits for the growth and quality improvement of crops such as fruit trees, vegetables, rapeseed, and peanuts.
In terms of application methods, this type of fertilizer is mostly used as a base application, applied with irrigation water, or sprayed on the foliage. When used as a base fertilizer, it can be mixed with organic fertilizer and applied in furrows; foliar spraying should be arranged before and after the flowering period or when deficiency symptoms first appear, with the concentration controlled according to the product instructions, and avoiding periods of high temperature and strong light. Particular attention should be paid to the fact that boron has a relatively narrow safe dosage range, and excess can easily cause leaf burn and toxicity, so the dosage should be strictly controlled, and the concentration should not be arbitrarily increased or heavy applications repeated over a long period.
For daily storage, it should be kept in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture and sunlight. Humic acid boron magnesium is a supplementary fertilizer and cannot replace major element fertilizers such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, and it should be used in combination with routine fertilization. When purchasing, pay attention to the product registration information and nutrient content labeling, choose products from legitimate channels, and conduct a small-area trial before first use for greater reliability.
