What conditions must be met to grow sugar apple
Sugar apple, also known as custard apple, is a tropical fruit that many people want to grow because the profits are fairly obvious. Growing sugar apple is not something you can just decide to do; there are not many places in our country suitable for growing it. Below, let's look at what conditions are needed to grow it.

1. Regional factors
Because sugar apple is a tropical fruit, not many places in our country meet this condition. At present, the main production areas are concentrated in the Guangdong-Guangxi region and the Hainan region, and some southern coastal cities such as Fujian also have records of cultivation. Other regions are not very suitable for growing it. Keep this firmly in mind: if someone says there is some new variety that lets you ignore these factors and grow it anyway, it is basically fake, because regional factors are an absolute limit.
2. Stable channels
People in areas where it can be grown should not rush to plant it either. You need to consider some market factors. The first thing to determine is whether you have fairly stable sales channels. This fruit is not easy to store; after picking, it only has a short freshness period, and once it ripens on the tree it also cannot be kept for long. Without channels, growing it will only lead to losses. In addition, sugar apple is rarely sold in large wholesale batches; sales are basically small-scale, so before planting you should find as many channels as possible.
3. Suitable temperature
Not every place among these suitable growing areas has temperature conditions that meet the requirements for cultivation. Sugar apple needs an annual average temperature of around 20°C, and the temperature difference between the two seasons cannot be too large, otherwise yields will not rise and the tree may also enter intermittent dormancy. Especially during the seedling stage, sugar apple trees are even stricter about temperature and need a hot and humid environment for fast growth and development. The seedling planting period is generally around June, so you need to know whether the local conditions in this season meet these requirements.
4. Sufficient light
Sufficient light is one of the factors affecting sugar apple cultivation, and its light requirement is much higher than that of ordinary fruits. With insufficient light, the fruit grows poorly, and when it finally matures, its appearance and other aspects are not ideal. Especially during the full fruit stage, the light duration generally needs to be close to about 12 hours. Even if the daily sunlight duration meets the condition, that is still not enough; the duration must also be sustained, otherwise the growing results will still be unsatisfactory.
It is precisely because the various conditions are relatively demanding that growing this in our country is relatively rare, and at the same time this is what makes the price of sugar apple relatively high. After seeing the profits of sugar apple, do not get tempted in a hurry; check whether your own conditions meet the requirements!
