How do you plant and manage durian? These key points need to be mastered
As the king of fruits, durian is grown by many people, and everyone hopes their durian yield will increase. Many users will ponder some methods at once to increase the yield, but in fact, as long as you manage durian well, the output will not be bad. Everyone should first do these basic management points well, and then figure out methods.

1. Seedling cultivation
Seedlings affect every aspect of durian, so when cultivating seedlings you must be especially attentive to lay a solid foundation for the future. The first thing to do in seedling cultivation is temperature control, because temperature affects the condition of durian seedlings, and only a suitable temperature will let the seedlings grow normally. The second is nutrient supply. At this time, durian seedlings do not have a high demand for fertilizer and water, so normal fertilization is enough. Instead, various weeds have a greater impact, so weeding should be done frequently.
2. Field planting management
After the seedlings are cultivated, it is time for field planting. To ensure the success rate of field planting, you should often pay attention to whether there are abnormalities about two weeks after planting. One is grasping the depth, and the other is managing fertilizer and water. As for spacing, that is a minor issue; a wider distance is no problem, as long as it is not too small, generally about 4-5 m. The depth should be based on the height of the seedling, and its root system cannot be higher than the ground; it can be slightly lower, which can improve the survival rate. Fertilizer and water are used to avoid quickly passing through the adaptation period after planting, but do not overdo it, otherwise root rot may occur.
3. Fertilizer and water
Fertilizer and water are specifically mentioned here to warn everyone not to overdo it. A tree like durian does not depend particularly heavily on fertilizer and water in the later stage; the main thing is soil fertility, because it has a huge root system, so the main task is simply to make the soil more fertile. Organic fertilizer should be evenly buried a bit deeper around the trunk, as long as it does not directly touch the root system. Other chemical fertilizers should be properly mixed with water for irrigation, so that they can be absorbed to the greatest extent. The amount used should generally depend on the growth of the durian tree; there is no specific amount. Do not be afraid if there is too little fertilizer, since you can topdress, but too much fertilizer easily leads to fertilizer burn.
4. Harvest handling
After harvesting, the durian tree actually does not urgently need additional fertilizer and water, because in the later stage after harvest, the nutrients of the durian tree no longer need to be supplied to the fruit and will be used to maintain the growth of the tree body. Blindly topdressing at this time will not have much effect. Generally, topdressing is done after 2-3 weeks depending on the situation. If the tree body is growing poorly, topdressing can be done earlier. After harvesting, the main work is to do some maintenance for the tree body, clean up some dead branches, and then properly sterilize and disinfect, so as to maintain a good growing environment for the durian tree.
The above are some key points for planting durian trees. In fact, for durian trees, aside from paying more attention in the early stage, in many later situations they can slowly balance themselves. Growers only need to do well in some functions they cannot achieve themselves, such as pruning and disease prevention; otherwise, basically nothing will go wrong.
