How to manage temperature in greenhouse cherries

Cherry is a relatively expensive fruit on the market, but there is still very large market demand for it in our country. Nowadays, cherry cultivation methods are generally based on greenhouse cultivation, and when we grow greenhouse cherries, management work is very important. Temperature management in particular, so how should temperature be managed for greenhouse cherries? Today, the editor will briefly introduce this to everyone, so let's take a look below!

1. Temperature during the flowering period

When managing the growth temperature of cherries, we should manage according to changes in the cherry growth stages. During the flowering period, a relatively stable temperature should be maintained, and the temperature should not be too high or too low. The minimum temperature should be kept at around 10°C, and special attention should be paid to the nighttime temperature. If the temperature is too low, heating must be carried out in time. Then, on sunny days, attention should also be paid to ventilation and cooling work, and a thermometer should be equipped inside the greenhouse. Observe temperature changes frequently. When the temperature is too high, cooling must be carried out in time. For example, after the temperature rises to 30°C, it will reduce the vitality of cherry pollen and affect the pollination and fertilization rate.

2. Temperature during the fruit-setting period

As just mentioned, we should appropriately adjust the temperature according to changes in the cherry growth stages. After cherries enter the fruit-setting period and begin to set fruit, the temperature should be kept at around 18°C. Then, in the early stage of young fruit development, and after flower drop until the young fruit begins to expand, the temperature should gradually rise to around 22°C. The maximum temperature must not exceed 30°C, otherwise it will have a very large impact on cherry growth. In addition, a good day-night temperature difference should be maintained, with the nighttime temperature controlled at around 8°C, and the maximum must not exceed 10°C.

3. Temperature during the expansion period

After cherries set fruit, as time passes, they will gradually enter the fruit expansion period. During the cherry fruit expansion period, the temperature must never be too high, otherwise it will not only affect fruit expansion and reduce fruit quality, but also cause phenomena such as fruit drop. During the period from fruit coloring until fruit ripening, the temperature should be controlled at around 23-24°C. The day-night temperature difference should be maintained at around 10°C. A suitable temperature is very beneficial for fruit coloring and expansion.

4. Temperature regulation

The temperature and humidity regulation of greenhouse cherries can be adjusted through methods such as ventilation openings or removing the film. In the early stage of cherry growth, temperature regulation directly affects cherry yield, while temperature in the later stage directly affects quality. When starting to raise the temperature until the flowering period, the temperature should be appropriately increased. This period is generally about one month. If the temperature rises quickly, then flowering may begin in about 25 days, but there will be a relatively serious phenomenon of flower drop.

The above is a brief introduction to how to manage temperature in greenhouses. That is all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only, and I hope it can help everyone!
