Milk strawberry planting management methods

Milk strawberry is currently a relatively popular strawberry variety in our country, and the market demand in our country is very large. The nutritional value of milk strawberry is similar to that of ordinary strawberry, but the taste is better and the price is higher. At present, the planting area of milk strawberry in our country is relatively large. So how should it be managed when planting milk strawberry? Below, the editor brings you the planting management methods of milk strawberry, let's take a look together!

1. Management before flower bud differentiation

The management work of milk strawberry before flower bud differentiation is very important. Under normal circumstances, the transplanting time of milk strawberry is generally around September each year, and water should be supplemented once in time after transplanting. And the shading work should be done well. The distance between the shade net and the ground should be kept at about 1 m. Then the old leaves and weak leaves should be removed in time, and an appropriate amount of axillary buds and stolons should be removed. When milk strawberry is undergoing flower bud differentiation, it needs an environment of low temperature and short daylight, and a suitable environment is very beneficial to the differentiation of the terminal inflorescence and axillary inflorescence of milk strawberry.

2. Water and fertilizer management

During the flowering and early fruiting stages of milk strawberry, it should be watered once, and the watering method is generally mainly furrow irrigation. The watering amount can be kept at about 2/3 of the furrow depth. If the weather is relatively dry, then it should be watered about once a week. The hole irrigation method can be used for watering. On the contrary, in rainy days, watering work should be done well to improve the drainage and irrigation capacity in the garden. Then the intertillage and fertilization work should be done well. From November to December, intertillage should be carried out at least about 3 times, and then topdressing should be applied once each at the early flowering and early fruiting stages, and the topdressing fertilizers are mainly urea and phosphate fertilizer.

3. Adding plastic film

From October to November each year, the flower bud differentiation of milk strawberry gradually enters the late stage. At this time, the shade net can be appropriately removed, and the plastic mulch should be covered after the Start of Winter solar term. And before the arrival of the Major Snow solar term, the covering work of the greenhouse film should be done well. The temperature in the greenhouse should be kept at about 19°C. Especially in deep winter, if conditions permit, both large and medium greenhouse films should be covered together, mainly to maintain the temperature in the greenhouse and promote the safe overwintering of strawberry. The lowest temperature should not be lower than 23°C to ensure the normal growth of strawberry.

4. Reasonable ventilation

When planting strawberry, we should also control the soil moisture well, and the soil moisture should be kept at about 75%. The air humidity in the greenhouse should be controlled at about 65%. Therefore, if the temperature in the greenhouse is higher than 30°C, then ventilation work should also be done well for cooling. In winter, ventilation should be carried out at 10 o'clock and 15 o'clock every day. The humidity in the greenhouse should not be too high either. If it exceeds 70%, ventilation should also be carried out in time to reduce humidity. During the flowering stage, some bees can be placed in the greenhouse for pollination, and reasonable ventilation work can also effectively prevent diseases such as powdery mildew in strawberry.

The above is a brief introduction to the planting management methods of milk strawberry. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only, and I hope it can help everyone!
