Pollution-Free Fertilization Techniques for Cherries

The cherry is a fruit tree with relatively high economic value, and it has a very large market in China and is loved by many people. At present, the planting area of cherries in China is relatively large. When planting cherries, we must do a good job in fertilization to provide sufficient nutrients for the growth of cherries. But how should we carry out pollution-free fertilization? Below, the editor will give you a brief introduction. Let's take a look together!

1. Trench application

Trench application is further divided into the radial trench method and the ring trench method. When using the radial trench method, first dig trenches at a place about 50cm from the base of the trunk, following the principle of being narrow on the inside and wide on the outside. The depth of the inner trench should be kept at about 30cm, and the depth of the outer trench should be kept at about 45cm. Dig about 5 trenches per tree for fertilization. Then, when using the ring trench method, dig trenches in the area of the tree canopy's shadow, with a width controlled at 50cm and a depth of 45cm. No matter which trench application method is used, after digging the trenches, fully mix the fertilizer with the soil and apply it into the trenches, and pay attention to watering after fertilization.

2. Broadcast application

For broadcast application, it should be determined according to the distribution of the cherry tree roots in the orchard. If the root system in the orchard is widely distributed and the root system is strong, then the broadcast application method can be used for whole-orchard fertilization. First prepare the fertilizer, spread the fertilizer evenly over the entire orchard, and then deeply plow the soil so that the fertilizer is mixed into the soil. The depth of deep plowing should be controlled at about 20cm. It should not be too shallow or too deep, otherwise it is easy to cause the roots to rise upward, affecting root growth and reducing the disease resistance of the roots.

3. Hole application

First, dig fertilization holes with a depth of about 40cm along the tree canopy, add an appropriate amount of grass bundles into the holes, and control the specifications of the grass bundles well. Apply an appropriate amount of nutrient solution into the fertilization holes. The number of fertilization holes should be determined according to the size of the cherry tree. Usually, about 5 holes are dug per tree. After digging holes and fertilizing, pay attention to covering with plastic film. Poke a small hole in the middle of the plastic film and carry out watering and fertilizing through this small hole. After watering and fertilizing, pay attention to sealing the small hole to avoid evaporation. If there is no rain, then water about 5kg roughly every three weeks.

4. Foliar fertilization

During the growth period of cherries, we also need to do a good job in foliar topdressing for cherries. Foliar fertilization can effectively increase the speed of fertilizer absorption and distribute nutrients evenly. For cherry foliar fertilizer, fertilizers such as urea, ammonium phosphate, and potassium phosphate should be selected. It can be sprayed appropriately until the leaves of the cherry tree stop growing. However, in summer it should not be done at noon, as high temperatures inside may cause phytotoxicity. Usually spray once every 2-3 weeks. Before fertilizing, the fertilizer first needs to be dissolved, and then sprayed after dissolution.

The above is a brief introduction to pollution-free fertilization techniques for cherries. The fertilization method for cherries is very important, and everyone must pay more attention to it. That is all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only, and I hope it can help everyone!
