Some friends think spending half a year making compost is very troublesome, and buying a bag of fertilizer at the flower shop only costs a few yuan, so why bother making it yourself, but friends who truly love organic flower growing and vegetable gardening don't think so. What is the pursuit of growing flowers? It's not buying a potted flower and then admiring it every day, but rather the focus on being able to care for them every day and slowly watch them grow. The most important thing is the process of caring for them. What do you think?

1. Composting vegetable leaves and fruit peels

Vegetable leaves and vegetable tops from cooking at home can all be stored. Do not mix in leftover rice and dishes. If you dig a pit in the yard, that's the only way to put all the leftovers in. What we are preparing here is compost with no bad smell, so you only need to prepare some clean vegetable leaves and leftover fruit peels. These things should be cut as small as possible. If they are organic vegetables or organic fruits, even better, because vegetable leaves and fruit peels with too much pesticide will definitely have a big impact on the compost.

2. Eggshells

Eggshells are a very good calcium supplement. Other eggs are not as useful. However, pay attention to how you use them. Do not put a whole egg in, and even more, do not bury some rotten eggs directly into the soil, or you'll be waiting for bugs to show up.

The correct method is to wash the eggshells clean, then dry them in the sun. After drying, crush them, and preferably grind them into powder. Only then can they be mixed into the soil, so no bugs will grow, and decomposition will be faster. This is the fastest fertilizer making I have tried.

3. Tea dregs

If you directly throw leftover tea dregs from daily life into the potting soil, do you think that can add nutrients to the potting soil? Actually, this is very wrong, because the tea dregs have not decomposed yet, and putting them directly into the soil won't work. Bugs will grow, or the roots will be burned.

The correct method is to mix the tea dregs directly into the compost, add an appropriate amount of soil, seal it directly in a durable plastic bag, mix in an appropriate amount of water, and put it in a corner. Fermentation will be complete in 3 to 5 months.

4. Chinese medicine dregs

It is impossible to often use Chinese medicine dregs to make compost, because the ingredients of Chinese medicine are so high, and popularizing it is impossible. Only friends who can easily obtain Chinese medicine dregs are suited to making it. You can directly mix in some soil, add some clear water, and put it directly into a compost bucket to ferment, and it will become a very useful fertilizer for growing flowers.

5. Coffee grounds

Coffee grounds are also a very good material for growing flowers. If the plant is relatively robust, you can put them directly into the soil, but be careful not to let the coffee grounds directly touch the plant roots, and instead keep them separated.

Of course, the more conservative and effective method is to mix them with soil for composting before use. After fermentation and decomposition, they will not produce heat. This is the most correct way to use coffee grounds.
