What should be noted when planting mangosteen

Mangosteen can be said to be a trendy fruit of the past two years, and it is very popular in the market. It is a famous tropical fruit, and at present it is mainly grown in Taiwan, China, Fujian and Guangdong, as well as other regions with a relatively mild climate all year round. Its fruit can be eaten, while the rind can be processed into dye. Since mangosteen has relatively high requirements for growing conditions, today we will first learn about a few issues to note when planting it. Let's take a look.

1. Soil

The choice of soil for planting mangosteen is very important, as it has very strict requirements for the soil. Generally speaking, the soil for planting should be relatively fertile; secondly, water resources near the planting site should be abundant and the water quality unpolluted; in addition, the transportation conditions and water and electricity conditions near the planting site should be good, and the terrain should be relatively gentle, preferably a gentle slope of about fifteen to twenty degrees; finally, the soil should be slightly acidic, generally with a pH value between five and six, and rich in organic matter.

2. Water

During the planting process, attention should be paid to the water supply. In order to ensure the normal growth of mangosteen, when planting mangosteen we must do a good job of watering correctly, and at the same time note that there should not be too much water, and waterlogging must be strictly avoided, otherwise the mangosteen trees are very prone to disease. So during the rainy season, we should promptly clear the ditches for drainage, so as to reduce the incidence of disease in mangosteen.

3. Light

Mangosteen is very sensitive to light, especially mangosteen seedlings. Under normal circumstances, mangosteen seedlings are suitable for growing under weak light conditions. If the light intensity is too great, it may damage the branches and leaves and affect the growth of the mangosteen seedlings. So if the light intensity is too strong, we need to build shade sheds, but we still need to maintain a certain degree of light transmission and cannot use fully shaded sheds. Finally, after the mangosteen gradually grows, the light intensity can be appropriately increased, which is more conducive to the growth of mangosteen.

4. Density

Planting density is mainly a question of field ventilation and light penetration. If planting is too dense, then the light transmission and ventilation in the field will become weaker, which will lead to a stuffy and enclosed phenomenon in the field, and this can easily trigger some unnecessary pests and diseases, leading to reduced mangosteen yields. So when planting mangosteen, we must grasp the planting density well. Generally, the row spacing should be controlled at about six meters and the plant spacing at about four meters, and generally twenty-eight mangosteen plants can be planted per mu. Of course, we can also scientifically adjust the planting density according to the fertility of the soil, the terrain and topography, and so on.

5. Nutrients

The supply of nutrients is the key to the growth and high yield of mangosteen. Generally, in the first two years after planting mangosteen, the types of fertilizer and the fertilization pattern in these two years are the same, and about three to four topdressings are needed in a year. By the third year, the types of fertilizer applied change to a certain extent, and fertilization needs to be carried out according to the different nutrient requirements needed at different growth stages of mangosteen, with the amount of fertilizer appropriately increased or decreased.

The above is all the content that the editor wants to introduce to everyone today. Due to limited time and energy, the editor here has only briefly introduced some of the fertilizer requirements of mangosteen.
