Experimental Methods and Results Analysis for the Control of Jujube Fruit Shrinkage Disease
In recent years, jujube fruit shrinkage disease has become increasingly severe. Jujube fruit generally becomes affected at the white fruit stage, and often a large number of fruits drop within a few days. In ordinary years the incidence rate is 5%-8%, and in severe cases the proportion of diseased fruit reaches over 30%. Diseased fruit tastes bitter and is unfit to eat, seriously affecting the quality and yield of jujube fruit. Because opinions differ from place to place on the pathogenic factor of this disease, and it was discovered in our county only just over 10 years ago, there is still no successful experience in controlling it. After consulting materials from many sources and conducting field observations, the fruit tree station formulated an experimental plan for the control of jujube fruit shrinkage disease and achieved fairly good results. The experimental process is described below:
1. Test agents: Suolie Keshen, Huafu Plant Growth Promoter, and Zaofeng Huoligai.
2. Results: Spraying Suolie Keshen gave the best effect, with a control efficacy of 93.3%; spraying Huafu gave over 90%; Zaofeng Huoligai had a somewhat lower effect, reaching 76.6%. (The above is a general introduction; jujube growers are asked not to spray pesticides indiscriminately.)
3. Summary and discussion:
The main soil type in the Jinghai area is salinized moisture-affected soil, with a pH value greater than 7. Due to drought in recent years, soil alkalization has become severe, and the antagonistic effect of high salt has disrupted the normal metabolism of jujube trees, inhibiting their absorption of the trace elements needed for growth and causing fruit shrinkage disease. Suolie Keshen contains fulvic acid, amino acids, and elements essential for plant growth such as calcium, silicon, iron, and zinc. It regulates the physiological metabolism of jujube trees according to the balance principle. Huafu Plant Growth Promoter can effectively activate enzyme activity, accelerate plant metabolism, and enhance photosynthesis, and it contains various trace elements essential for plant growth. Both can effectively supplement the nutrients needed for jujube tree growth and reduce the fruit shrinkage rate. Zaofeng Huoligai, however, is a calcium-supplementing fertilizer and cannot fully supplement the nutrients lacking during the growth of jujube trees, so its control efficacy is relatively lower.
