Introduction to the Zaomeisu Pear Variety and Analysis of Its Characteristics
1. Economic traits of the fruit: average single fruit weight 250g, nearly round or long oval, fruit surface smooth and clean, thick wax layer, green-yellow, attractive appearance, relatively small core, crisp flesh with abundant juice, soluble solids content 11%-12.5%.
2. General agronomic traits: semi-spreading tree habit, round-headed canopy, strong trunk. Fruit ripening period is late July, fruit development period 90 days, plant vegetative growth period 219 days, with strong resistance to ring rot, black spot, and rot diseases.
3. Suitable regions: planted in North China, South China, and other areas.
4. Cultivation key points: in sandy wasteland and thin soil as well as hilly and ridge land, spacing of 1.5×4 (m) or 2×4 (m); in fertile soil with good irrigation conditions, spacing of 2×5 (m). After entering the full bearing period, flower and fruit thinning should be done reasonably, leaving one fruit every 20cm, with about 15,000 fruits retained per mu, so that the yield is controlled within 2,500kg. Shaping and pruning should mainly be light pruning, and after fruiting, the tree form should be developed, mainly in a spindle shape.
