In peach cultivation in China, white-fleshed juicy peaches account for more than 70%. Currently on the market, the main varieties are "Feicheng Peach", "Wuyuexian", "Chunlei", "Yuhualu", "Shazizaosheng", "Baifeng", "Okubo", and others. Due to the influence of many factors such as fruit flavor, productivity, storage and transportability, and cultivation area, the market prices of these varieties have dropped substantially in recent years. With the introduction of some new varieties, current orchard establishment mainly selects excellent varieties with larger fruit, proper fruit shape, beautiful appearance, superior quality, and the ability to fill market gaps, such as the early-maturing "Annong Shuimi" and "Chunyan Meixiang"; the mid-maturing "Xinchuannakajima", "Hongganlu", and "Zaofengwang"; and the late-maturing "Laishanmi", "Daguo Heitao", and "Dongbao", among others.

Flat peaches are becoming popular on the market

In recent years, a number of new varieties of both fuzzy-skinned flat peaches and smooth-skinned flat peaches have been bred, such as "Zaolupan", "Ruipan", "Zhongqiupan", and "American Purple Flat Peach", which fetch high market prices and deliver considerable returns. Because these varieties are currently only in the initial stage, with no large-scale planting yet, and their harvest period mostly falls in the off-season of the peach market, they have considerable room for development.
