Introduction to the Characteristics and Cultivation Techniques of the Jinling Long Jujube Variety
Jinling Long Jujube: the fruit is large, long cylindrical in shape, with a longitudinal diameter of 4.30 cm and a transverse diameter of 2.98 cm. The average single fruit weight is 20.60 g, with a maximum of 28 g. It ripens 20 days earlier than the Dong jujube. The flesh is dense, crisp and juicy, with total sugar of 31.15%, total acid of 0.43%, and Vc of 368.6 mg/100 g, giving it high fresh-eating quality. Jinling Round Jujube and Jinling Long Jujube are collectively known as "Chaoyang Jinling Jujube" and are currently the most cold-tolerant new large-fruited fresh jujube varieties in China. Through nearly ten years of breeding research, it successively passed appraisal and approval by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Liaoning Provincial Committee for the Examination and Approval of Improved Forest Tree Varieties on September 19 and September 24, 2002. The CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee and the Liaoning Provincial Government have already published a book on it, and the Liaoning Provincial Forestry Department has issued a document to promote it throughout the province. At present, it has been introduced to Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Beijing, Ningxia, Gansu, ** and other places. It fills the gap that there was no cold-tolerant large-fruited fresh jujube variety north of 40° north latitude in China.
