Introducing the characteristics of the new large peach variety Hongfurong

Hongfurong giant peach is a mid-to-late ripening variety. In the Beijing area, the flowering period is in mid-to-late April, and it can be harvested in early August, with a whole growth period of about 110 days. It has extremely strong storage tolerance; the harvested peaches can be kept at normal temperature for 20 days without spoiling or rotting, making it most suitable for long-distance transport. The peaches are especially large, with an average fruit weight of 420 g and a maximum of up to 1210 g. The appearance is gorgeous; after the fruit ripens, it is nearly round with a flat top, the suture line is obvious, the peach fuzz falls off naturally, and the fruit surface is pink. The flesh is milky white, dense, and hard-melting, with a rich wild peach aroma, a sweet taste, and it is a crisp-textured peach. The fruit sugar content is 14.8%-18%, and it is freestone with thick flesh.

In addition, planting is simple and adaptability is strong. Trial bases can be set up in mountainous areas, hilly land, and black soil, clay soil, loess soil, and sandy soil; the best results are still with sandy soil and loess soil. It is easy to manage, the tree vigor grows quickly, the branch angle is semi-spreading, the branching rate is high, it is easy to shape and prune, and all types of branches easily form flower buds. The self-pollination fruit-setting ability is strong, and young trees mainly bear fruit on medium and long fruiting branches. After planting in the first year, it can bloom and bear fruit in the second year, with a yield of 10-20 jin per plant. In the third year, it bears fruit in small quantities, 50-100 jin per plant, and reasonable close planting can be done appropriately.
