Variety origin: Huali No. 2 is a new sand pear variety bred by Huazhong Agricultural University through hybridization, with 'Ninomiyahaku' as the female parent and 'Kikusui' as the male parent. In February 2002, it passed the review by the Hubei Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee. Variety characteristics: The tree vigor is moderate, the tree posture is open, the trunk dominance is medium to slightly weak, and the layering is relatively obvious. The sprouting ability is strong, and the branching ability is moderate; the branches are relatively thin and slightly curved; the leaves are oblong-elliptic and medium-sized. The canopy forms relatively quickly, it begins bearing fruit early, has a high fruit-setting rate, and is high-yielding and stable-yielding; under normal management conditions, planted

The canopy forms relatively quickly, it begins bearing fruit early, has a high fruit-setting rate, and is high-yielding and stable-yielding; under normal management conditions, the proportion of trees bearing fruit in the 3rd year after planting is over 70%, and the yield in the 5th--6th year is about 30 t/ha. The fruit ripening period is mid-July; the fruit surface is light green, the fruit shape is neat and round, and after storage the fruit surface turns yellow; the average single fruit weight is 180 g; the maximum is 250 g; the flesh is tender and fine, juicy, the soluble solids content is about 12%, the titratable acid content is about 0.1%, and the core is small; it can be stored for 20 days at room temperature. Its resistance to pear scab and pear black spot is stronger than that of both parents. Its disadvantage is that the fruit is relatively small under poor fertilizer and water management conditions and without flower thinning and fruit thinning.

Adapted regions: Suitable for cultivation in sand pear production areas in China with relatively good soil conditions and relatively high management levels.
