What are the precautions for spraying pesticides before fruit ripens
Prohibited pesticides include 1605, methyl 1605, fenitrothion, monocrotophos, methamidophos, trithion, omethoate, zinc phosphide, aluminum phosphide, carbofuran, asomate, chlordimeform, aldicarb, lindane and other pesticides. Dicofol also cannot be used on fruit trees because it contains high-residue DDT.
Note the safety interval. Pesticides for which the last spraying must be no less than 7 days before harvest include: 50% dichlorvos emulsifiable concentrate, 40% dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate, 50% carbendazim wettable powder, 50% iprodione wettable powder, 20% dinocap wettable powder, 50% malathion emulsion; pesticides for which spraying must be no less than 10 days before harvest include: 25% phosmet emulsion, 25% chlorbenzuron suspension concentrate; pesticides for which spraying must be no less than 15 days before harvest include: 10% deltamethrin emulsifiable concentrate, 40% fenitrothion emulsifiable concentrate, 10% permethrin, 25% carbaryl wettable powder; pesticides for which spraying must be no less than 20 days before harvest include: 10% cypermethrin emulsifiable concentrate, 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder and 25% diflubenzuron wettable powder; pesticides for which spraying must be no less than 30 days before harvest include: 73% propargite emulsifiable concentrate, 20% amitraz emulsifiable concentrate acaricide, 5% phoxim emulsifiable concentrate insecticide and 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder fungicide.
Pesticides suitable for use. From 10-15 days before fruit ripens, for disease control it is advisable to use fungicides such as polyoxin, chunleimycin, jinggangmycin, huaguangmycin, junduqing, matrine, fubiqing and lürutong. For pest control, use insecticides such as qimansu, abamectin, Bt emulsion, imidacloprid and baolian.
