Melons & Fruits 0 views
Wonhwang Pear was bred by a horticultural research institute in South Korea through crossing Early Saehi (Sinsakume) and Late Sanzai (Late Mishirazu). After being introduced to our institute and observed, it ripens and comes to market in mid-to-late July in the Chongqing area, with stable traits, making it a medium-ripening variety with great development potential. In the young fruit stage, the Wonhwang Pear fruit is brown, and after ripening it turns golden yellow, oblate in shape, beautiful in appearance, with a smooth and delicate surface and thin wax. The average single fruit weight is 300g, with a maximum of 665g. The flesh is white; the texture is tender and juicy, with few stone cells and good flavor, containing 12% soluble solids, a small core, and a high edible rate

The fruit can be stored at room temperature for about 15 days, and can be stored at low temperature for 60 days, making it currently a better variety to replace Hosui. Wonhwang Pear has strong early fruiting ability. For planned dense planting, plant at a row-to-plant spacing of 3lm or 41.5m, and by the third year the yield per tree can reach 13-17kg. It mainly bears fruit on short fruit branches, with high and stable yields, strong adaptability, drought resistance, cold resistance, salt-alkali tolerance, and strong disease resistance. Aigan Shui, Hosui, Ganquan, etc. can be used as pollinizer trees, and pruning is mainly done in a Y shape.
