Fengwang Peach

Variety source: selected in 1994 by the Qingdao Academy of Agricultural Sciences from the seedling progeny of "Sazao" × "Chunyan", and performed well after 5 years of production trial planting.

Characteristics: under open-field cultivation, full bloom occurs on April 13-15 in the Qingdao area, and the fruit ripens around June 10. The average single fruit weight is 170 g, the fruit shape is nearly round, the two halves are basically symmetrical, the fruit apex is round, the suture line is shallow, the stem cavity is medium-deep and medium-wide, the color is bright red, and the fruit's background color is milky white, very attractive, containing more than 11.5% soluble solids, 7.2% soluble sugars, and 0.11% titratable acid. Low in fiber, juicy, clingstone, sweet flavor, with a rich peach aroma.

Cultivation points: this variety forms flower buds very easily, has abundant pollen, is early-bearing and high-yielding, and a three-year-old tree can reach a yield of more than 1800 kg per mu. In production, pay attention to flower thinning and fruit thinning, and strengthen early-stage fertilizer and water management and the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. It has a low chilling requirement, making it one of the ideal varieties for forcing cultivation in greenhouses, and it is also an excellent early-maturing variety for open-field cultivation.

Suitable areas: suitable for planting in northern China and some parts of southern China, with excellent development prospects.
