Introduction to the Kashgar Changyuan jujube variety
The "Kashgar" Changyuan jujube is a tree species with a tall trunk; young trees grow vigorously, and generally seedlings planted in the field bear fruit after 2 years, entering full fruiting stage from 12 to 15 years. The fruit ripens late, the fruit is small to medium in size, the fruit surface is smooth, the flesh is greenish-white, sweet in taste, thick in texture, high in sugar content, and the pit is small. The average single fruit weight is about 7 grams, with a maximum of up to 10 grams, and the yield of dried jujubes is about 400 kg per mu. The edible rate is as high as over 90%, the sugar content of dried jujubes is as high as 67.2%, and the drying rate is 64%. In our region, where the groundwater level is above 1.0 m and the soil salt content is above 0.2%, the vast southern Xinjiang area's sandy loam and light clay loam soils can all support its growth.
