Introduction to the Non-Soft Peach Variety: A Treasure Among Peaches
The Non-Soft peach tree is vigorous, with strong sprouting ability and high branching ability. Middle, long and short fruit branches can all bear fruit. The leaves are large and thick, flower buds form easily, the flowering period is medium, and it sets fruit by self-pollination. There are no parthenocarpic fruits. The fruit is nearly round, with a shallow suture, and the fruit fuzz is sparse and short. The fruit coloring degree is above 95%, the skin is not easy to peel, and the pit is semi-clinging. The flesh is crisp and tender, juicy and sweet, with a unique flavor. The fruit ripens in late June, with a development period of 95 days. The average fruit weight is 280 grams, and the large fruit weight is 550 grams. It contains 15.8% soluble solids, 13.5% soluble sugar, 0.4% titratable acid, and a firmness of 9.5 kg/sq cm; after 10 days of storage, the firmness is 7.5 kg/sq cm. The greatest characteristic of the Non-Soft peach: when the fruit is ripe, it already has the flavor of a honey peach, so it can be picked and sold on the market. After 7 days, the fruit enters the fully ripe stage, and the flavor becomes stronger. If at this time it encounters rainy weather or is delayed for several days for other reasons, the fruit will not drop. After harvesting, the fruit can be stored at room temperature for 20 days without becoming soft or rotten, staying as fresh as when first picked. If low-temperature storage is used, the time is even longer.
This variety belongs to the short-chilling southern line and is suitable for cultivation in subtropical regions. It can be cultivated in China from 23 to 38 degrees north latitude and east of 95 degrees east longitude.
