Jinxiang Pear

A new cultivar hybridized and bred by the Institute of Pomology, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Its parents are Nanguo Pear and Bartlett Pear. It is cultivated in small quantities in western Liaoning. It is a cultivar of extremely high quality that can be canned, and is suitable for development in suburban areas.

The fruit is medium to large, with an average single fruit weight of 110.5 grams. The fruit is spindle-shaped. The skin is greenish-yellow, turning yellow after ripening, with a dark red blush on the sunny side. The fruit stalk is relatively short, and the calyx persists. The core is medium-sized, the flesh is white, fine and soft in texture, easily melting in the mouth, with extremely abundant juice, a sweet-sour taste, and a rich fragrance. It contains 13.5% soluble solids. The quality is superior.

The plant has moderate vigor, and the tree is relatively dwarfed. The branches have strong sprouting ability and moderate branching ability. Young trees bear fruit on medium and long fruit-bearing branches, while mature large trees bear fruit on medium and short fruit-bearing branches, with moderate yield. The vegetative growth period is 210-225 days. It matures in mid-September in the western Liaoning region. This cultivar has moderate cold resistance and resistance to pear scab. The pollinizer cultivars are Zaosu, Jinfeng and Yali.
